The Domaine Jean-René Germanier is bustling during the 2024 harvest season. Despite the unpredictable weather conditions, the 2024 harvest at the Domaine promises to be a success. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our team and the rigorous selection of grapes, we are proud to offer you a vintage that is both fresh, elegant, and remarkably refined.
A vintage marked by freshness
The 2024 vintage of the Domaine Jean-René Germanier harvest stands out for its freshness and balance. The season started with wet weather conditions, followed by a beautiful summer that allowed the grapes to mature gently.
The 2024 harvest is characterized by a more modest yield, but with wines that are vibrant, focused on finesse and delicacy of aromas rather than power. In other words, wines of great elegance and lively character.
The 2024 harvest interrupted by rain
The 2024 harvest began on September 24 and will extend until October 18. The season was marked by episodes of rain, requiring great vigilance. Fortunately, the meticulous work of our teams and the careful sorting of grapes have preserved the excellent quality of the harvest. This approach ensures that only the best grapes, at perfect maturity, are used to produce the Domaine’s wines.
Despite these climatic challenges, we have managed to maintain a high level of selection to ensure an excellent quality 2024 vintage.
The grape dictates the moment
One of the key moments of the harvest is choosing the right time to pick. The ripeness of the grapes is closely monitored to ensure that the harvest is neither too early nor too late.
This essential timing allows us to capture all the richness of the aromas.
By respecting the natural cycle of the vine and picking the grapes at their perfect maturity, we allow each bottle to fully reflect the unique potential of the 2024 vintage. Listening to nature is often the surest path to exceptional wines.
The team behind the 2024 harvest
The 2024 harvest at Domaine Jean-René Germanier is the result of the meticulous work of a team of 40 harvesters. Each grape bunch is hand-picked in the various plots of the Domaine, a method that ensures a rigorous selection and deep respect for the terroir. This dedication is reflected in the quality of the grapes, living up to the reputation of our wines.
In the cellar, 25 artisans work together to carry out the transformation of the grapes, performing exemplary work behind the scenes.
Finally, we must not forget our oenology team, led by Delphine Dubuis and Richard Riand. Together, they oversee each step of the winemaking process, showing unwavering dedication both in terms of time and commitment to ensure the best handling of the harvested grapes.
Thank you to all these people who, through their expertise, passion, and dedication, enhance the unique character of each cuvée at Domaine Jean-René Germanier.
